Example Mis-Sold-Solar Panel Claims & Complaints

Here are some example scenarios to give you a better understanding of the potential claims you could make and possible outcomes if you have been mis-sold-solar panels.

System Not Producing Assured Results.

Many solar panel installation companies sell solar panel systems to homeowners on the understanding that the cost of the finance will be offset or covered entirely by the income generated from feeding electricity back in to the National Grid via the FiT (Feed in Tariff).

If the system you have installed on your property has failed to generate the average minimum kW output required to do this over a reasonable period of time there may be grounds to claim for a solar panel finance package write down.

For instance, if you paid £15,000 for a system and the salesperson said the system would self fund over a period of 10 years but the systems actual performance means that it would take 30 years to self fund, our claims team would aim to negotiate a finance package write down of £10,000, meaning you'd only be left to pay £5,000 over the same term.

Please note that no matter what stage of your finance payment plan you are at there may still be grounds to claim, in some cases even if your finance has finished. You should always keep up to date with payments on your finance agreement.

Our claims team will operate on a no-win-no-fee basis to gather all relevant supporting information and compile a claims document that will be used to negotiate the solar panel finance write-down so that you are returned to the position of financial gain or neutrality that you had expected to be in.

System Not Producing Assured Results.

If you purchased solar panels on the understanding that they would generate enough saving/income to be self funding but they have proved not to be so over a reasonable period of time - as per the scenario above - but you have settled the finance early you can still claim for a partial refund.

Our team are able to process claims for clients where the client has been able to settle the finance early in order to minimise monthly out goings.

No matter what stage of the finance package your at, whether you've made one payment or all of them, we are able to assist you with mis-sold solar panel claims.

System Not Fit For Purpose.

If a solar panel installation company has installed solar panels that are not fit for purpose, you could be entitled to a full refund. There are many reasons that a solar panel system may not be for for purpose and the result will be drastically under-delivered energy generation from the system.

Should you choose to nominate Mis-Sold-Solar to handle your claim, our claims team will operate on a no-win-no-fee basis to cover all upfront costs throughout the process. They will gather all required supporting information to highlight the true validity of the grounds for making a claim and present this to the liable party/parties. In some cases the claims team will need to take court action to ensure a full refund is received, this is done at no additional up front cost to yourself.

As part of the settlement the claims team will negotiate the best possible compensation settlement to restore your property to its original condition before the solar panels were installed.

There may also be grounds to pursue a claim for monies lost as a result of increased utility bills, additional maintenance or building repair bills should you have suffered this kind of loss as a direct result of the solar panels being installed on your property.
